A cooperation project entitled 'Nachhaltiges Wirtschaften in Berliner Betrieben (NBB) (Sustainable economies in Berlin operations)', initiated by the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR), was carried out from 1 October 2009 to 28 February 2010. The project was sponsored by the Berlin Senate and the European Social Fund (ESF). The rds energies GmbH posed the question of how deep geothermal energy can be made suitable for investment in Germany. In particular, questions were dealt with concerning the absence of framework parameters for the introduction of this technology onto the market.
